Each June, four Quechua communities gather to rebuild the Qeswachaka bridge entirely from ichu grass, continuing a tradition over 500 years old. This tour takes you to the Apurímac River canyon where the handwoven suspension bridge spans a dizzying gorge.
Meet the builders, learn the engineering behind the annual reconstruction, and if conditions allow, walk across the living bridge yourself. The surrounding landscape of high puna and river canyons adds dramatic beauty to this cultural encounter.
