The Classic Inca Trail is one of the world's great walks, following stone paths laid by the Incas through ever-changing ecosystems. Cross high mountain passes, explore ruins accessible only on foot, and camp under stars with the sounds of the Urubamba Valley below.
Each day builds anticipation until you pass through the Sun Gate for your first view of Machu Picchu at dawn. Porters and a professional cook handle logistics so you can focus on the history, landscape, and camaraderie of the trail.
Permits are strictly limited; booking months in advance is essential for this life-list adventure.

Day 1
Drive from Cusco to Km 82 (Piscacucho) and begin hiking along the Urubamba River. Visit Llactapata ruins and continue to Wayllabamba campsite. Approx. 12 km, 5–6 hours.

Day 2
Steep ascent to Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman's Pass) at 4,215 m, the highest point of the trek. Descend to Pacaymayo campsite through cloud forest. Approx. 11 km, 7–8 hours.

Day 3
Climb to Runkurakay pass and visit Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca, and Intipata ruins. Descend through cloud forest to Wiñay Wayna campsite. Approx. 16 km, 8–9 hours.

Day 4
Pre-dawn hike to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) for sunrise over Machu Picchu. Descend to the citadel for a guided tour. Bus to Aguas Calientes, then train and transfer to Cusco.
