Ausangate is the apu — sacred mountain — of Cusco, and this five-day circuit treks around its entire massif. Cross passes above 5,000 m, camp beside turquoise glacial lakes, and witness Vinicunca, the Rainbow Mountain, in its natural context.
This is a remote, demanding trek through landscapes that feel prehistoric. Quechua herders move their alpaca flocks across the puna while you walk ancient trails between thermal springs and snow peaks.
